Hej Coffee

HEJ (pronounced hey) Coffee was conceived in Sweden and born in Bermondsey. Following a brief marriage to a large Swedish coffee conglomerate, the team left the big corporate along with the spreadsheets to go back to what they loved most – producing great coffee. After the divorce Hej kept the name, the café and the strong Swedish values. It was the starting point to carry on the dream, continuing our passion for all thing’s coffee.


Today we’re artisan neighbourhood coffee shops, we roast our beans in-house at our London roastery in Elephant & Castle, and we’re a barista school – helping to champion baristas to make better coffee. As wholesale coffee suppliers we also deliver coffee beans to businesses, restaurants and cafes. Ernie, our 1963 electric milk float delivers zero waste coffee around the city in reusable containers. In six months we have saved 4116 plastic and foil bags from entering the waste stream! This service is also available in store – we fill up you reusable containers straight from the roaster!
